Right before the boys of the men's relay team swam their final race tonight (and won another Gold, yay) Chevy rolled out a commercial for their new Traverse.
In their ad, they claim the cross-over vehicle will have "everything we ever wished for, and then some..." Instead of showing us the car however, they show us a well-chiseled shirtless man surrounded by neatly folded laundry. He is ironing while talking on the phone, making dinner reservations for his 6-month anniversary. He then moves on to scrub the toilet.
Apparently, Chevy realized that millions of women, (I being one of them) would be tuning in tonight to watch some swimming, and thought an ad showing a good looking man doing housework would appeal to us. Because we'd be watching the swimming, or at least we'd be watching the boys doing the swimming, and perhaps some would be looking at the suits hanging on precariously...

(Oh my, that is very low.)
Ahem,...back to the commercial...the one with the half-dressed man doing some ironing. The commercial was advertising some half-SUV/ half-min-van thing they now call a cross-over. I won't be buying one, it's a Chevy, and buying a Chevy would be after all, against my marital vows. But the commercial was certainly hilarious and it's nice to see that someone in the auto industry finally understands that women are a VERY powerful demographic that has until now, been long overlooked in the advertising market.
