Karen and Grace come for a visit

Bryan has been once again summoned to Los Angeles for at least the next week. As such, our good friend Karen and her daughter Grace decided to come for a visit all the way from Colorado while he is away. The ladies arrived on Saturday and will be with me a full week. It's great to have friends like Karen, and it's wonderful to have someone keep me company and help me out a bit in my gimpy state. Our friends Luke and Holly are also friends from our California days, and so we all got together at the Point Defiance Zoo on Sunday. It was great to see all the tots interact together, and it was nice to be with old friends.
I was officially released from bedrest on Thursday, but as my doctor explained, this only means I get to go on short outings with lots of rest in-between, as I am still pretty sick. So, while I did get to get out in the sunshine and was able to visit with everyone, from some place other than my living room, I did so from a wheelchair. (a zoo is no place for a sick, weak, pregnant woman to regain her sea legs.) We shoved my IV machine into a backpack with some water, snacks and my wallet and then slung the backpack on the back of the chair. Bryan got his workout for the weekend, and I was able to be social. I felt ridiculous, but it was the best solution we could come up for spending a few hours with everyone in a toddler-friendly environment. I did get up every once in a while when we were up at animal exhibits, but I had to live in my chair for most of the day.

What a difference a month makes...

At the request of many, I've taken another preggo pict. I went out of the house today to procure some new shirts, as none of mine fit anymore. That was enough to wear me out for the week...as you can see by my face, I'm pretty tuckered. I didn't realize how puffy I have become until I compared last month's shot with this month's. Ah the joys of being pregnant. :-) enjoy!

ultrasound picts...sorry for the delay

Double-Click to enlarge the picts. Sorry for the delay...the scanner is upstairs and I just haven't had the energy.
The first three were taken last week and are labeled on the ultrasound picts themselves. The first is a spookey one of the baby's face, (I'm a little worried about that nose). If you look closely, you will see her knee bent, as well as both her fists cocked (like a prize-fighter)...she started pummeling right as he took this pic. The second and third are just her foot and a balled fist pre-punch (she's laying on her side, you can kind of see her upper thigh in the middle left of the pic) The last picture is the baby's side profile (she's laying on her back,) and was taken at 16 weeks...a side profile of this quality was impossible last week- she's too big. She kind of looks like ET in this pic as her head and belly were so big, (at the time) and her feet disappear in the darkness. :-) Enjoy!
PS- I'm 23 weeks now...only 18 to go!
