Just another night with the ole' landline...

Phone Rings...

Me: "Hello?"

-silence

Me: "Hello?"

-muffled shuffling sounds in the background

Me: "HELLLLUUUUUU?"

A chipper, southern-sounding female (CSSF) speaks: "Hello! I am calling from a research company, conducting important research, from an important research company in Princeton, would you like to participate in a survey so that we are able to conduct our very important research!?!"

Me: "Actually, no thank you, and by the way, we are on the do not call list."

CSSF: "BUT maaaa'aaam, we are not SELLING anything, we're conducting RESEARCH!"

Me: "Well that's lovely, but I'm still on the do not call list, and I prefer that you DO NOT CALL. Please take me off your call list."

CSSF: Dripping with disdain, and far less than chipper, "UGHHHHH. Okay Ma'am." Continued muffled shuffling sounds.
