The Result

You asked, you shall receive. Here is the first of four blankets, not all will look like this, but this is one style I'm making, modeled after the famous (and pricey) Taggie blankets. I thought I could make one pretty easily (no selling though, they're patented.)
It is pretty easy to make, once you pick out the ribbon, and of course, remember how to use your machine correctly.

The cool thing about these blankets is that there are several different textures for baby to touch and feel. The green bumpy side is called "minkee" and is super soft. The monkey print side is a really soft flannel. And of course, the ribbons are all different textures and sizes for the baby to pull on and grab. I triple reinforced the ribbons inside so that they can really be yanked on but won't come loose, and then put a top stitch around the outside edge for good measure.

This blanket is being gifted at a baby shower this Friday, it is for a baby of unknown gender (hence the green and the yellow.)

Very cute! Great fabric and ribbon choices. But then again, I think I would love anything with monkeys on it. Thanks for sharing!!
