Nobody. That was a good solid waste of five hours. Wow, what a snooze fest. Jon Stewart was funny in his opening monologue, as was expected, but after that, what the heck? This is what happens when you have a writers strike and then come to terms two weeks before the biggest show of the year. They need more time to prepare, it seems.
At one point, they did a little mini-tribute recapping every "Best-Picture" winner of the past 79 years. I cannot decide whether it speaks well of me, or ill of me that I have only seen around 30 of the last 79 winners. I don't think that's a very good statistic.
And I can certainly tell you I have absolutely no intention of seeing the winner from this year. "No Country for Old Men," can win all the awards it will, I have no desire to see people getting murdered just for the art of it.
