It turns out that even though my grandmother taught me to sew in college and I have been using her old machine every week for over a year now, I still don't know what I'm doing. To catch the bobbin thread, you have to turn the wheel toward you, not away from you. I expect MENSA will be calling any day now.

Very funny. Sounds like something I would do! I sew a little but it is all by trial and error, I really have no idea what I am doing as I'm sewing!!
So, can you share the blanket(s) with us when you finish? I'd love to see them!
