Her first Birthday party

All day, the weather forecast predicted rain and thunderstorms, but somehow we managed to dodge the bullet and were blessed with beautiful clear skies with full sun and warm breezes.

Evie's grandparents came, our neighbors came and two church friends came....


Evie spent most of the time with her friend Sage,


They were up to all kinds of mischief:



Although Grammy Nancy was pretty hilarious,


Another highlight of the evening was the ball crawl:


Of course the big excitement was the cake: (which deserves a prize for ugliest cake made by a mom...)


Evie wasn't too sure about it


But she LOVED her presents, especially her new purse and included cell phone:



Although this party was mostly about the adults getting together and celebrating and she will have no memory of the event, it was still fun; any excuse for a party is good enough for me.
