The REAL cause of global warming...

...wire twist ties and plastic connectors.

Otherwise known as the ridiculous packaging for children's toys. This is the "security" packaging involved for three small baby toys that I pulled out for Evie now that she's a little older. It took me nearly 40 minutes to unpack said toys, as each toy was wired to the laminated cardboard with several rubber-coated cables.

One toy, a solid talking caterpillar with no extra parts, had seven wires. SEVEN. This does not include all the little black plastic pieces the wires had to run through on the back.

What is the deal with the plastic wiring and cables? Is there a problem with the old-fashioned box system? Why are we wiring the toys to the boxes?

It should now say on the side of all toys, "requires two AA batteries, needle-nose pliers, one pair of gardening gloves, an advanced degree, and at least one hour to assemble.
