We have been searching for rainboots for our daughter for over a month; she wears infant sizes- they'd don't make rain boots in her size. At least that is what we thought until last Friday when I saw a pair of tiny black rubber boots sitting in the plastic boot bin at her school.
I grabbed them and held them up to her shoes-they were the same size.
"Where did these come from!?!" I asked her teacher. Her teacher ran over, excitedly, she knew we have been desperate for boots for the kid, as they play outside every day and it is generally muddy, "they got them at Walmart."
And then I died.
I hate Walmart, I refer to it as the evil empire. I have sworn off shopping there for all eternity.
But my kid needs boots; her shoes and socks are getting trashed in the mud, her feet wet daily. Nobody else carries boots in her size, nobody. Trust me, we looked. We even ordered some, only to find the size 4 to be too big.
So we drove up the highway and now here I sit, a place I swore I would never go; my husband has gone in to do the dirty deed, because he is better than I.
