Saying Goodbye to Puck

Yesterday, our beloved dog Puck moved to his new home. After an incident where he snapped at Evie, we came to the conclusion the two could no longer reside under the same roof. I put out a call for help and the parents of an old friend expressed an interest in our boy.

I received the following email from his new "mother," today; he has been with them for 24 hours and he seems to be doing very well:

"Puck is getting on very well. In less than 24 hours he has learned "Outside" and "Get the ball". He has already chased 2 different cats out of the yard; and put the fear of god into a squirrel. He is very smart; and has already figured out that if he lays at the top of the steps going up from the family room, he can keep an eye on me on 2 levels of the house without having to move.
We got him a small soft cloth-covered ball; and he will chase and "get the ball" about 6 times before he grows tired of the game.
He is also working me for Milk Bones on a regular basis. I think we will teach him to ring a door bell when he wants to come back into the house. Right now, he doesn't stay out very long. He seems to think I need supervising. He also enjoys laying by the French doors to the backyard, and watching the birds through the glass.
I know he will be thrilled when my husband comes home, and gives him another walk. He's so easy to bribe. :-P Right now I can hear him softly woofing - he must have seen another squirrel or cat in the yard."

While we are very sad to have had to say goodbye to our boy, we are thrilled he is happy and so well-loved by his new family.
